Fils de cultivateur, il fait ses \u00e9tudes d\u2019ing\u00e9nieur \u00e0 l\u2019Ecole Centrale. Il entre chez \u00ab&nbsp;PERIN-PANHARD&nbsp;\u00bb apr\u00e8s un court passage chez Cockerill, en Belgique.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>En 1886, apr\u00e8s le d\u00e9c\u00e8s de PERIN, son camarade de l\u2019Ecole Centrale, Ren\u00e9 PANHARD, demande \u00e0 Emile LEVASSOR de s\u2019associer avec lui. Tr\u00e8s vite, les deux hommes per\u00e7oivent l\u2019avenir promis au moteur. Ils entament la fabrication, sous licence, des moteurs \u00e0 gaz Otto et Langen puis du moteur \u00e0 p\u00e9trole Daimler avant de se lancer dans la grande aventure des automobiles mues par un moteur \u00e0 essence l\u00e9g\u00e8re de p\u00e9trole.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Epaul\u00e9 par la veuve Sarazin qu\u2019il \u00e9pousa en 1890, Emile LEVASSOR, g\u00e9nial et ent\u00eat\u00e9, ne cesse de travailler; de jour comme de nuit, il invente, perfectionne et n\u2019h\u00e9site pas \u00e0 \u00ab&nbsp;essayer&nbsp;\u00bb ses innovations. Il d\u00e9pose des brevets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Il participe \u00e0 toutes courses automobiles.
